She:kon from the ancestral homelands of the Kanien'kehá:ka
The WaterfallUnityAlliance would like to wish you all a happy new moon! Grandmother Moon brings us energy of empowerment to have the courage to manifest from our heart spaced authenticity. We encourage you all to join us in celebrating the beauty of new beginnings. The Waterfall Family is taking this time to manifest a beautiful celebration of gratitude and love for the fruition of our vision. It has only just begun! With the 2023 WaterfallUnity Festival being about a week away, we have so many exciting things to share with you.
We look forward to seeing your beautiful spirits at this community gathering centered around the love we have for our children and our commitment to the future generations. Our headliners include Kanien'kehá:ka songwriter Theresa Bear Fox, Anishinaabe artist Keith Secola, and Puff the Magic Dragon: Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul, and Mary). Workshops include, crystal healing, bone alignment, medicine walks, fire demonstrations, foraging, astronomy, voice journey, and more. The festival is an opportunity to learn more about Onkwehonwe culture, ways of being, and the work we do at WaterfallUnityAlliance.
Tickets are by suggested donation. All proceeds go toward our Kanien'kehá:ka language and culture immersion center. The festival will officially begin Friday, July 28th at 6pm! For more information, visit our website. For questions, send us an email or message us on Facebook.
Volunteers are welcome to join us from now through the festival! The Waterfall Unity Alliance is a very small Onkwehonwe-led organization. Donating your time will always be deeply appreciated by our team and opens the doorway to build alliances and friendships. We are calling for hands-on help to assist us with on-site preparation for the festival.
Those who have experience with heavy-lifting, power tools, and digging, are needed to assist with various festival infrastructure installation and preparation. We are calling to those who have EMT/First-Aid experience to volunteer at our first-aid tent at the festival.
Tasks include: shade sail install, outdoor pig-roast install, compost set-up, trail clearing, signage install, stage set-up, berry picking, etc.
During the festival: Welcomers/Greeters, Parking, Sanitary, Security, First-Aid, Nourishment Team, Stage Management
Niawenko:wa (A Big Thank You) to all our volunteers.
We hope this week's newsletter inspired you today. As always, the WaterfallUnityAlliance says nia:wen to you for your support. Be sure to check out our Facebook page, Instagram, website and Tiktok located below.
